Why Oil-Proof BOPP Material is Essential
Paper and standard vellum stocks are porous. Oil wicks into the fibre, the adhesive is attacked from the label edge inward, and the label fails. BOPP is a synthetic film with a closed, non-absorbent surface, so the oil simply has nowhere to go.
Zero Ink Bleeding
Hair oils are typically carried in fractionated coconut oil, MCT, jojoba or light silicones. On uncoated paper these carriers dissolve the ink vehicle and the print turns into a smudge. On BOPP the print is trapped beneath a protective laminate layer, so graphics stay razor-sharp even after months of contact with the oil and constant handling in the bathroom.
No Peeling, No Lifting Edges
The most common failure mode is edge lift: oil migrates under the label and destroys the adhesive from the perimeter inwards. Our BOPP construction uses an aggressive permanent acrylic adhesive with a high coat weight, paired with a slightly oversized laminate overhang pattern, so the label resists oil creep, shower humidity and repeated wiping.

Matte (Soft-Touch)
A premium, non-reflective surface with a velvety feel. Fingerprints and oil smudges do not show, which makes matte the smart default for hair oils that are handled daily. Ideal for minimal, clinical or apothecary branding.
Gloss
A high-shine, wet-look finish that maximises colour saturation. Gloss is the most economical option and the easiest to wipe clean — a good match for bold botanical artwork and bright ingredient callouts.
Hot Gold Foil
Real metallic foil stamped into the BOPP surface for a genuine reflective, mirror-gold shine that no ink can imitate. Foil holds perfectly on film, so fine typography, logo marks and borders stay crisp. Mix foil with matte or gloss print for the classic luxury combination. Silver, rose gold and copper foils are also available.

Are these labels really 100% oil-proof?
Yes. The face stock is synthetic BOPP film, not paper, and the printed surface is protected by a laminate. Oil, water, alcohol and carrier oils cannot penetrate the label or dissolve the print.
Will the label survive a shower and daily handling?
Yes. Our permanent acrylic adhesive and waterproof film are tested for bathroom humidity, wet hands and repeated wiping. Labels stay flat with no edge lift.
Can I use these labels on roll-fed applicators?
Yes. We supply both roll labels (with your required core diameter and wind direction) and sheet labels for hand application.
